Keith Pender is a K-12 music educator with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District. Since 1997, he has been teaching Kodaly and Orff in K-5, guitar, ukulele, accordion, strings and concert band in grades 6-12.
Mr. Pender grew up in Goulds, Newfoundland. He was introduced to the euphonium while in seventh grade by Mr. Gerry Stephenson and played from junior high through to university, as well as with the Ceremonial Guard Band in Ottawa. Besides participating in music, he was very active in officiating softball from the local to national level, being designated as a Level V Official in 2005 and Umpire of the Year for Canada in 2011.
Mr. Pender received his Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, and Master of Education (curriculum teaching and learning studies – music education) at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
