Keith Pender

I am a K-12 music educator with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District.  Since 1997, I have taught Kodaly and Orff in K-5, guitar, ukulele, accordion, strings and concert band in grades 6-12.

I grew up in Goulds, Newfoundland and was introduced to the euphonium while in seventh grade by Mr. Gerry Stephenson and played from junior high through to university, as well as with the Ceremonial Guard Band in Ottawa. Besides participating in music, I was very active in officiating softball from the local to national level, being designated as a Level V Official in 2005 and Umpire of the Year for Canada in 2011.  I retired from officiating in 2020 and these days my main sporting hobby is golfing.

I received my Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, and Master of Education (curriculum teaching and learning studies – music education) at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
