Provide students with the opportunity to play popular, vibrant songs from Newfoundland and Labrador that they know and love, without having to spend hours searching for music scores and having to transpose/arrange them to meet the needs of your classroom or instrumental setting.

Perform spirited tunes that are unique to our province. Students will never grow tired of playing these treasured tunes and will be asking to play them over and over again.

The Traditional Folk Songs of Newfoundland and Labrador is comprised of four alternate classroom formats: Concert Band, Traditional Strings, Guitar, and Recorder.

The four resources develop music literacy through a comprehensive musicianship learning environment. The following valuable tools are included: song lyrics, history of the tunes (where available), listening journals, Venn diagrams, black line masters (theory, composition, representing and research) for extension activities, and a learning outcomes checklist.
